Raphael Ziegler, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist specialized in neuropsychological assessment and treatment who received his Master’s and Doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from Central Michigan University. He completed an internship in clinical neuropsychology and behavioral medicine at the Long Beach Veterans Administration Medical Center. He also completed a 2-year fellowship in geriatric neuropsychology at the University of California, Irvine Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and Institute for Brain Aging and Dementia now the Institute for Memory Impairment and other Neurological Disorders (UCI-MIND). During his training in these institutions Dr. Ziegler developed a passion for neuropsychological / cognitive assessment and treatment of adults and older adults with a wide range of neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia, stroke, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis.
Dr. Ziegler has held several leadership positions in the field including as the Director of Clinical Training at the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Los Angeles, Program Chair of the Department of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences, and is currently a full professor in the College of Behavioral Sciences at Argosy University. Dr. Ziegler is also the lead neuropsychological consultant for the LA Chargers as well as the NFL’s Brain and Body Assessment Program. Dr. Ziegler is the founder and President of the Neurobehavioral Healthcare Center, a group practice dedicated to comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological assessment and empirically validated treatment of mental health and neurological disorders.
Mojgan Moshtael, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist specialized in the assessment and treatment of children, pre-teens, and adolescents. Her passion is providing assessment and treatment supporting families to address the special emotional/behavioral challenges of those struggling with ADHD, Autism, Learning Disorders, and other neuropsychological disorders. She also provides educational accommodations assessment for students. She received her doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Alliant International University.
She completed her pre-doctoral internships at the Glen Roberts Child Study Center, and the Children, Youth, and Family Consortium. Both internships focused on the assessment/treatment of children, adolescents, and their families in an outpatient and/or school based setting. She has also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Reiss-Davis Child Study Center, a non-profit organization that specializes in psychodiagnostic assessment. She has worked with children, adolescents, and their families for over 14 years. Her doctoral dissertation was on the attachment style of teachers, and how they intervene with bullying behavior at school.
Lauren Keats, Psy.D. is a clinical psychologist specializing in the assessment and treatment of individuals with neurological disorders and cognitive and functional impairments. Dr. Keats received her Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Neuropsychology, at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and completed her internship in integrated behavioral medicine at the University of Texas, Health Science Center. She also completed a two-year post-doctoral residency at the Neurobehavioral Healthcare Center specializing in adult and older adult neuropsychological asssessment. Her dissertation examined the relative contributions of social and non-social cognition and clinical symptoms in predicting social functioning among individuals with schizophrenia-spectrum disorders. Her research interests include cognitive rehabilitation and social functioning.
Dr. Keats has clinical experience assessing and treating adults with a wide range of neurological, medical, and psychological conditions, including acquired brain injuries, dementia, stroke, schizophrenia, and chronic medical illnesses. In therapy, Dr. Keats focuses on helping individuals adjust to changing identities associated with cognitive impairment, learn to compensate for and remediate deficits, and maximize one’s functional independence.
